So why does Sunday night feel like a threat? You are sitting in a room you spent seven years building.

The title on the card is the one you wanted at twenty-five. The revenue reads like a success story. People from your past look at your life and see the textbook definition of settled. By every account that gets said out loud, you are winning.

Welcome to Cycle 5. The Growth Cycle. Twenty-eight to thirty-five. The most dangerous stretch in the whole thirteen-cycle arc, and dangerous for one reason only. Everything visible says “oh this is fine”, and the only thing that matters is happening where you aren’t looking.

THE LIFECYCLE 7 MATRIX: CYCLE 5

1. The question in your head changes

At twenty-eight a door shuts inside you. You don’t hear it close. What you notice is that the background noise has changed.

For seven years you were asking a builder’s question. What am I supposed to do with my life? Now you are asking a far less comfortable one. Am I actually doing it?

Cycle 4, twenty-one to twenty-eight, was assembly. The job, the partner, the postcode, the first taste of predictable money. Every week had a next move. In Cycle 5 the structures are standing and the launching is over. Now you have to live inside what you built.

That sounds gentle. Comfortable, even. It isn’t. Building produces visible progress, the kind you can post about. Inhabiting produces invisible progress, for years, and nobody claps for it.

You are no longer advancing. You are deepening, or you are failing to, and from the outside nobody can tell which. Including you.

2. Two kinds of staying

In your early thirties the culture wants one thing from you. Commitment. It has no idea what the word means, and the confusion costs people a decade.

Commitment as endurance is maintaining the arrangement whatever it produces. You stay in the role, you keep the marriage running, you stay in the postcode, all with a tight jaw. The culture applauds this. By thirty-five it has manufactured a very specific kind of quietly depleted adult. Tenure without depth.

Commitment as deepening looks the same from the street and is a different animal. You stay inside the structure and you watch what it is producing like a hawk. You keep the job and work out what the job can be made into. You keep the partner and keep learning who they are. You keep the city and put yourself inside its real human ecosystems until you belong there, not just pay council tax there.

Two founders, both in year ten of the same business. From outside, identical. Inside, one has material to master and the other has a gilded cage they are quietly working out how to leave.

3. The dissatisfaction signal

Somewhere around thirty-three or thirty-four, a doubt turns up. It does not arrive with a bang. It arrives in a conversation with your partner that goes flat for no reason either of you can name. On a Tuesday morning where the dread is wildly out of proportion to the workload. At a dinner with old friends that leaves you, somehow, more alone than before you went.

In The Architecture of a Human Life we call this the dissatisfaction signal, and we treat it as the most useful information the cycle produces. Not a symptom. Information. A report from a layer of you that your twenty-something self never consulted when it built this life. It is not telling you the life is wrong. It is asking you to look at what you are paying to keep it running.

Three things about the signal matter.

It is loudest in one category. Work, partnership, or place. Rarely all three. Wherever it is loudest is where your Cycle 4 choice was most shaped by what you inherited and least by who you are.

It asks for examination, not demolition. Most people either suppress it or over-correct, decide the whole life is wrong, and blow it up. New job, new partner, new city. Two years later the same misalignment turns up in the new configuration, because the machinery was never examined. The blow-up was a costume change.

And it is patient. Suppressed, it does not disappear. It waits.

4. The gratitude argument

The moment the signal arrives, it is met by an argument, and it is the single most persuasive way a human shuts up their own information.

You have so much. Look at what you have. Others would give anything for a fraction of this. It would be ungracious to complain.

Every word is true, which is why it works. But gratitude and the signal live on different layers. The signal is not ingratitude. It is a report from underneath. You can be deeply grateful for what you have and still be living a misaligned life, and the interior machinery blurs the two on purpose, because the blur produces silence, and silence is what the machinery wants.

Nobody audits a life that is going well. The promotions, the revenue, the congratulations all read as proof you are on the right road, so you stop checking the map. That is precisely when a person can travel years in the wrong direction and call it success the whole way. For a founder it is the most expensive wall there is, because it stays invisible while the numbers are up. You scale the wrong business beautifully.

The work is not to bin gratitude. It is to hold both. This is fortunate, and this specific part of it is reporting misalignment. Say that sentence with a straight face and you have done the central work of the cycle.

5. Competence is not fulfilment

Decoding Life’s Matrix puts the cycle’s biggest discovery in one line. Competence is not the same as fulfilment.

You have been running on an assumption you never said out loud. Getting good at things produces a satisfying life. The early years were hard because you weren’t competent yet, so the competent years will be comfortable.

Cycle 5 is where that gets tested live and found wrong. You arrive where you were aiming and the arrival hands you respect, income, and a plateau. The third promotion delivers surprisingly little of what the first one promised.

The ladder says climb further. The economy says earn more. So the high performer does the only thing they know how to do and intensifies, and by the end of the cycle they are more capable, equally empty, and convinced the emptiness is a personal defect.

It is not a defect. It is the gap between what this cycle gives and what the next one is for. Competence is the precondition for the work that fulfils, not the work itself. You are not broken. You are on schedule.

6. The price of looking away

You cannot see the cycle you are standing in. Not from inside it.

The person who reads the map and recognises their Growth cycle while they are in it gets an extra seven years of useful work. The person who ignores the signal sees it at forty-four, standing in the wreckage of a burnout, a marriage, or a company, and pays then, at a brutal price, for the inner work they could have started at thirty.

Same information. Different price tag.

Sixty seconds. Now, before you read on.

Write down the one part of your life everyone congratulates you on.

Write down the one part where the signal is loudest. Work, partnership, or place. Pick one.

Now write the sentence in full. This is fortunate, and this specific part is reporting misalignment.

That is the gratitude argument losing. Most people never write it. You just did.

7. The mirror turns to you

Hello Substackers. First of all, thank you. Thank you for subscribing, for following, for reading Feral Founder, for reading this far.

I am not sitting here each week to pour out my life to you for no reason. Run it on your own cycle

Last week I showed you AI7, the LIFECYCLE 7 skill that runs inside Claude and reads a whole life across its cycles.

Cycle 5 is where it does something a book cannot. It files your Growth in your Cycle Ledger and reads the cycle’s own question back to you. Which category the signal is loudest in. Where you are deepening and where you are enduring. Then it holds you to one pattern to close this cycle, checks in on your phone so you don’t quietly drop it, and marks the close.

It never decides for you. It is not therapy, and it never diagnoses. It reads your record and hands you the choice.

For the length of this series, the door is open at a price it will not be again. Annual membership to The Seventh Cycle is $47, down from $188. Come in before 24 September and $47 is your rate for as long as you stay, while everyone after you pays $188. Annual is the tier that carries AI7. Monthly gets you the essays, the archive, The Sevens Map and the book. Annual opens the instrument. AI7 runs inside Claude, so you’ll need your own paid Claude account, separate from us.

Come in now and you get, today:

The Sevens Map. My 31-page self-audit across the cycle you left, the one you are in, and the one ahead.

Decoding Life’s Matrix. The ebook Jonathan and I wrote on all thirteen cycles.

AI7. Your private LIFECYCLE 7 AI.

The launch bonus. The Cosmic Game, the album from our SPATIALx Media studio, yours to keep if you move before the 24th.

Stop enduring your success. Not vision, delivery or the title on your LinkedIn banner.

At least not in the beginning.

I spent over two decades working in the media, entertainment and digital agency worlds building things other people sold, before I found that out the expensive way.

I was fifteen years old the first time I made real money, pulling fifteen to twenty thousand dollars a month. I say that not to flex but to give you some context because it was 1998 and we were literally building the Internet, version one. The actual thing. I was in hot demand before I could legally sign my own lease and thank God it stayed that way for years following, moving through engineering roles, building web products for brands you’d recognise.

I was engrossed. I was good. I assumed that was the whole game.

Then I left corporate and put my own foot out into the world, and discovered very quickly that none of it mattered the way I thought it would.

Programming. Project management. Delivery. Two decades of precision in creating other people’s reality. Those skills are real and I’m not diminishing a single hour I spent earning them. But changing your title on LinkedIn to “CEO” is not the same thing as becoming one.

When you are starting a business, CEO is spelled SALES.

You can graduate out of being the primary sales person later. In fact, if you build the business properly, you should. Eventually your job becomes vision, leadership, decision-making, staying close to the market, and making sure the machine keeps moving without your hand permanently on every lever.

But first you have to build the machine. And you cannot build a sales machine if you have never learned how to sell.

No one hands you that as a memo on day one.

It sounds obvious once you say it out loud. It was not obvious to me.

When you open a business, you’re thinking about the vision. You’re telling people you’re starting a company. You start hyper-fixating on the logo. You build the website. You obsess over the offer stack, the colours, the domain name, and the fifteen things that feel like you’re building a business because they produce something tangible at the end of the day.

You are not thinking about the myriad of daily, repetitive, unglamorous activities that make sales actually happen.

For a while, referrals will carry you. Mine did, for years: word of mouth and people I already knew throwing me projects. Someone knows someone who knows someone.

That feels like a sales strategy until it stops happening.

Referrals you don’t systematically cultivate are not a sales system. They are luck with good branding.

And when the tap slows down, you find out the hard way that you need to build relationship capital the entire time: publishing, speaking, following up, making offers, staying in the conversation. Becoming someone people trust before they ever need what you sell.

THE SAME CRUX

There’s a whole generation of content creators, young, hot and magnetic, racking up hundreds of thousands of followers, sometimes millions, acting like that number is supposed to pay the rent.

They are hitting the exact same wall I hit. The exact same crux.

It doesn’t matter if you’re coming from content creation or software engineering or project management or anything else that lives in what we call the back of house, the part of the business where you either are the product or you’re making the product. The moment you expect revenue, your role changes, and it catches almost everyone off guard.

Play this out with a content creator for a second. You think your job is making content. It’s part of the job.

But Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, none of them will hand you the name and contact details of the audience you built. You don’t own a single one of those relationships. You are, in the most literal sense, manufacturing the product that platform sells to advertisers.

They are profiting off your work while you check your bank balance and wonder where it went.

Ten thousand views can produce zero sales. A hundred thousand followers can produce a frighteningly ordinary income. One million impressions are worth exactly nothing to your mortgage company.

Attention is not revenue.

So ask yourself the harder questions. Not, How do I gain more followers? But:

What am I selling? Who am I selling it to? Why would they buy it?

And then the question almost nobody asks:

Who already knows me well enough to start that conversation today?

THE MISSING LAYER IS ACTIVATION

This is where a lot of modern businesses get stuck.

They have attention. They have content. They have an email list. They have followers. They might even have genuine demand.

But nobody is activating it.

Marketing creates awareness. Sales activates awareness.

Marketing says, here I am. Sales says, you raised your hand, let’s talk.

Marketing can put a thousand people around the building. Sales opens the door and invites somebody inside.

There is an entire industry built around helping entrepreneurs get more people to the top of the funnel when a shocking number of them haven’t properly worked the people already standing halfway down it. They want more leads, more reach, more traffic, more followers, more impressions.

More.

Meanwhile there is a former client who loved working with them and hasn’t heard from them in eighteen months. A prospect who said, “I really want to do this, just not right now.” Someone who replied to four stories last month. A customer who would happily buy the next thing if anybody bothered to tell them it existed. A peer who could make three introductions tomorrow.

Sales does not always begin with finding a stranger.

Very often it begins with noticing who is already there.

THE SPLIT

Business really has three jobs.

Marketing gets attention and creates demand. That’s the slow work of turning a stranger who doesn’t know you, doesn’t like you and definitely doesn’t trust you yet into someone willing to pay attention.

Sales turns that attention into conversations, relationships, offers and revenue.

Delivery fulfils the promise after someone has said yes.

That last world is the one I knew intimately. I spent over twenty years in it: product engineering, project delivery, always serving what I’d call an internal order. My CTO would tell me what we needed to build in the next six months, hand me a budget, and send me off to make it happen.

I got very good at that.

What I never had to do during those days of delivery, was face an actual paying customer and ask them for the sale. That’s the piece nobody prepares you for when you finally step into the seat yourself as an entrepreneur.

Sales is the job the business cannot survive without.

If you’re not generating revenue, you don’t have a business. You have an expensive hobby with a logo.

I don’t care if you’ve registered the limited company. I don’t care how beautiful the site is. I don’t care how many followers are watching you do it.

If sales aren’t happening, there is a clock on countdown somewhere whether you’re looking at it or not.

WHEN THE PRODUCT IS YOU

Almost nobody says this part out loud.

In a company, the founder sells a thing the company makes. In a business of one, most of the time, the thing you’re selling is you: your time, your taste, your judgment, your experience, your brain, your ability to walk into a problem and solve it in a way no one else can and know what to do next.

This means every act of selling can begin to feel like a referendum on the self. Every “no” feels a little more personal, because in the plainest sense, it is. This is why so much sales advice bounces right off the people who need it most.

Hand someone a script and watch them still apologise into the close, bury their own price, offer the discount before the customer asked for one. Watch them say, “I totally understand if this isn’t the right time,” three seconds after making the offer.

Someone absolutely brilliant can become almost incomprehensible the moment they have to state plainly what they are good at and ask another adult to pay them for it.

Somewhere underneath, a much younger version of them learned it wasn’t safe to say what they wanted, ask for it plainly, or believe they could have it.

A truth is that you do not need to completely fix your relationship with rejection before you learn how to sell.

You need to learn how to sell while it still feels uncomfortable.

You make the offer with the dry mouth. You follow up while your brain tells you they probably hate you. You state the price without explaining it into the ground.

When you do enough repetitions, your nervous system realises that you are still OK, a ‘no’ did not kill you, a non-response is not moral judgement. You begin to relax into the process.

Sales is a skill. And skill comes from reps.

My Messianic Rabbi told me something once that’s never left me. Every morning he drives into the car park and looks out at hundreds of cars, and he feels the full weight of it. He’s responsible for making sure there’s enough revenue coming in to sustain everything those cars represent: people, families, payroll, a building, a mission.

A church is still an organisation.

Every leader carries some version of that weight, the difference is whether you learn to carry it deliberately.

BEFORE YOU FIND ANOTHER LEAD, LOOK HERE:

This is your first exercise.

Open a note on your phone and make five lists:

1. People paying you now. Current customers or clients. Who is getting a result? Who might need the next level of support? Who needs renewing? Who have you not actually asked what they need next?

2. People who paid you before. Former clients. Customers. Alumni. People who already crossed the hardest trust barrier once and then disappeared into the CRM graveyard because nobody stayed in contact.

3. People who almost bought. The consultation that didn’t close. The proposal that went quiet. The person who said “after summer.” The lead who loved it but needed to speak to a partner. The DM conversation that ended with “let me think about it.”

4. People already engaging with your work. The names you recognise in the comments. Story repliers. Newsletter readers who write back. The person who keeps asking intelligent questions. The quiet follower who suddenly downloaded three things.

5. People who can open doors. Referral partners. Former colleagues. Peers. Customers with strong networks. People who serve the same audience you do without selling the same thing.

Now circle ten names.

And next to each name answer one question:

What would be a natural reason for me to talk to this person today?

Maybe a past client crossed your mind because you saw something connected to the work you did together. Maybe a warm lead wanted a particular result and you just saw something that made you think of them. Maybe a current client has just had a win and there’s a logical next problem you could help them solve.

Maybe a referral partner deserves a thank you. Maybe somebody keeps interacting with your content and you genuinely want to know what they’re building.

You have more leads hiding in plain sight than you think.

<picture></picture>

THE DAILY REVENUE HOUR

Now give those relationships somewhere to live.

One hour. Spelling and all.

That is what LIFECYCLE 7 (LC7) is. It’s a way to reflect on and observe your past seven years, the seven-year cycle you’re in right now, and the seven years ahead of you.

I am going to show you over the next seven weeks what a life looks like on a framework of seven-year cycles. Not so you can marvel at who I am. Far from it. So you can recognise how powerful this framework is when it is applied to a real human life. Mine. Cycle by cycle. The good times, the strange times, the bad times, and all of the successes (and failures) along the way.

Who am I, and why should you listen to me?

For the record, I did not arrive here empty-handed. Twenty-seven years in technology. Director of Direct-to-Consumer Technologies at The Walt Disney Company. Metaverse strategy lead at Accenture. Global stages at SXSW. And businesses I built from nothing, bootstrapped from the ground up on blood, sweat and tears. Keep all of that in your back pocket. It matters later. And it is nowhere near where the story starts.

By the end, you'll know how to map YOUR life the same way. For self-mastery. So you can quietly (or loudly) unpack all of your stuff into the ladder of LC7, finally have closure on the past, and plan where you're going in the seven years ahead.

Faith is the ground I stand on. I am not going to hide that, and I am not going to preach it at you either. Take this as one woman’s testimony—a clay vessel minted in 1983—telling you the truth about her own life. Where Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Yeshua) shows up in the story, and He does, I will say so plainly.

“They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.”

Revelation 12:11

The origin

LIFECYCLE 7 started as an observation my husband, Jonathan, made about me and our lives together. Every seven years, we seemed to enter a new phase of life. Some things repeating, some transitioning to new fields. It led to further research.

What began as an observation became years of research into Biblical time, natural cycles and the recurring role of seven.

We built a framework around the average human lifespan. Take that average, and you get thirteen cycles of seven years. Thirteen cycles, from the Seedling at the very start, all the way to the Reflection at the far end. A whole life, laid out on a ladder you can finally see.

When Jonathan first built the framework, I’ll admit it took me a long time to understand why any of it mattered, and why it mattered to me. I was a sceptic. He asked me to start writing things down, so I did. I started sharing my journals with him. And so it began.

The answer

This is not therapy and does not replace professional support. It is a structured way to begin examining your own life privately, in your own time and in your own hand.

Reflecting on each cycle of your life—pinning down the highlights, the lowlights and everything in between—creates space for honest reflection. And room for the quieter, spiritual work too, if you want it.

Once you’ve gone through each cycle, you’re able to identify many of the whys behind your own behaviour. You can begin to find closure on the past, understand yourself more deeply, recognise where you are in your current cycle and, importantly, plan where you’re going next in the seven years ahead.

I completed it. All of it. On myself. I am not going to tell you it was easy, because it wasn’t. Human beings are complicated, period. We have many contexts, situations, emotions, relationships, etc. There was even a time I couldn’t face my own past. What I had said. What I had done. What happened to me, and what happened to others.

The traffic lights

Every cycle leaves marks on you. We call these Tribulation Markers and Emotional Markers. Significant events that changed something in you, and there are usually at least three in every cycle.

They carry a charge, like traffic lights. Red is the marker that still stops you dead, the one that stings years later. You can be forty-two and still sitting at a red light that went red when you were sixteen. Green is the one that still warms you, the one you move forward on. Amber is the work in progress, the marker in the middle of changing colour, the one you are muting and neutralising while time does what time does.

The strange part is that the colours change. A red marker can turn green. A green one can turn red. What wrecked you at sixteen can become the reason you understand someone at forty. A negative in the past can be a positive in the future. And vice versa.

LIFECYCLE 7 audits through two moves, Reflection and Acknowledgement. You look at the marker, and you name it for what it was, and for what it has become.

Cycle 1

So. We start where everyone starts. Cycle 1: The Seedling. Nought to seven years old. This is the cycle where the ground rules of who you are get laid down, long before you ever get a vote. Now we go hunting for the markers.

We all have a beginning. Every one of us has Cycle 1, The Seedling, and most of it is cultural. Yours laid something down in you before you could read it, exactly as mine did. It was handed to you by society and the world around you. Something you never chose. So read what follows as a mirror for your own life. I go first only because someone has to.

The last time I saw my birth father, I was in the back of a red Nissan car, around five or six years old. My mother laid a blanket over the back-seat window. I peered out and watched him disappear. That is Emotional Marker number one.

I called my grandmother “Nanny”. She spoiled me. I was raised in Southern California with everything a child could ask for. Weekend trips to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, SeaWorld. Always at the mall, or a park, or the beach. My early childhood was a blur of fun-filled distraction laid over a fault line I could not yet see.

That is Cycle 1. The ground rules are installed without your permission, before you can read them or understand what they are.

Cycle 2

Cycle 2. Seven to fourteen. The Blossoming, when the self that was seeded starts to show itself. And my biggest Tribulation Marker yet.

We go deeper next week.

What it does

That is the point of doing this out in the open. I can now sit in front of the exact cycle where each thing was seeded and read the whole board. LIFECYCLE 7 is the tool that lets me. It does two things. It lets you look back with clarity, and plan forward with intent. It’s your own personal ‘long-count’ calendar, and it doesn’t ask you to hand your wounds to a stranger to get either one.

There’s one more piece. The framework maps time at seven scales at once: seven years, seven months, seven weeks, seven days, seven hours, seven minutes, seven seconds. Most change fails because you plan it at the seven-year scale, demand it at the seven-day scale, and then lose it at the seven-second scale, where the urge to quit turns up again and again while you’re not looking. Map that, and you stop losing the same fight in the same place.

That alone is worth the seven weeks. And I’m handing it to you free.

The build

Feral Founder is built on one principle: your business reflects your behaviour back to you.

The walls you built as a child to survive can become the ceiling on the business you are trying to build now. The independence that once protected you can become the reason you refuse help, hold everything too tightly or build a company that cannot move without you.

You cannot out-work that wall. You take it down cycle by cycle, and the business rises to meet the new height.

That is what these next seven weeks are really about.

The free essays will show you the LIFECYCLE 7 framework through the life I have actually lived. The paid companion articles inside The Seventh Cycle will help you apply each part to yours: the cycle-by-cycle prompts, the twelve concerns you tag your life against, the worksheets and the seven-month method where the real reconstruction happens.

And when the seven-week series ends, the membership does not. Members continue to receive one new premium article every week for the remainder of their annual subscription.

The free publication points at the map. Inside The Seventh Cycle, I hand you the pen.

Your turn

Reading about a framework and running your own life through it are not the same thing. So I built the on-ramp.

The Sevens Map is a 31-page printable PDF workbook: a guided self-audit of the life cycle you just left, the cycle you are entering and the cycle you are standing in now.

First, you use the Cycle Finder to locate yourself inside the thirteen-cycle framework. Then you work through the same kind of questions I used on myself: what you expected from the last cycle, what actually happened, the words that are still stuck in your head, the patterns that helped you and the ones that cost you.

Then you turn forward. You stand seven years from now, name what is true about your life, work, faith and relationships, and build backward from that destination—Year 7, Year 5, Year 3, Year 1, this month and this week.

You can complete it in one long sitting or across a series of quiet mornings. You finish with your recent life cycles mapped, your patterns named and your next direction written in your own hand.

Not a course you will never open. A private piece of work between you, the page and God.

A look inside The Sevens Map
<div class="image-gallery-embed" data-attrs="{"gallery":{"images":[{"type":"image/jpeg","src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/69a9c035-adac-4b6e-a95e-4f22148300ad_1747x2479.jpeg"},{"type":"image/jpeg","src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/27957aa1-7efc-4405-8a0e-e5226bfc66c9_1747x2479.jpeg"},{"type":"image/jpeg","src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/0b1a9fc5-02c7-44e3-bf0f-f0b8c5d3905c_1747x2479.jpeg"}],"caption":"Find where you are. Motivation is often a liar. Discipline does carry you when the feeling is gone.

However, there’s a step both camps skip, and it’s the one that makes discipline possible in the first place.

You can’t run a week you’ve never once looked at.

Everyone’s arguing about how to push harder through the day without ever checking what the day contains. It’s like arguing about how to spend money more wisely while refusing to open your bank statements. Discipline applied to a week you can’t see is just guilt with better branding.

I learned this the hard way. In engineering and delivery, precision and time focus matter. When I started my own business, I thought it would be simple to apply the same discipline of time management to my new venture, but what happens instead, when you’re a solo founder, is that your attention becomes scattershot across a myriad of competing priorities.

The time I swore I didn’t have was sitting right there, misappropriated in areas that did not contribute to revenue-generating tasks or to areas that would grow my team or our practice. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t logged everything my hands touched. The scroll I called “a quick break.” The admin I did at the sharpest hour of my day, saving the creative work for when my brain was mush. The dead ninety minutes every evening I’d have sworn were family time, and were really me, half-present, on my phone, next to my family.

You cannot discipline what you cannot see. Most people white-knuckling for more willpower are fighting a week they’ve never once looked at straight.

So before you download another system or tell your brain that you simply “can’t find the time”, do an audit on where you’re time really goes.

Log every waking hour of every day for one whole week. Change nothing. Run through your usual routine and tasks but note and track what you are doing each hour. Treat your 24 hours like a king counting the treasury, because that is what they are. You’re not fixing anything yet. You’re gathering the evidence (i.e., “what did I actually do, hour by hour, for seven days?”). The emerging patterns will do the rest of the work for you.

Here’s what the ledger gives you that willpower never will. It shows you your real free window, the one hiding in the wreckage, so you stop pretending it isn’t there. It shows you which hours of the day your brain is on fire and where you’re throwing time into the mud. And it surfaces the time leaks, the exact places your time is draining out without a single decision from you. Once you can see all of that, discipline stops being a fistfight. It becomes obvious. You’re not forcing yourself anymore to do something unrealistic. You’re taking control and protecting a window you can finally see.

So I built you a mirror. One week of your life, audited hour by hour, handed straight back to you.

The Feral Founder King’s Audit is a free Google Sheets template. You copy it, log your week, and it serves as a mirror, reflecting your patterns clearly so you can take action and control your time, the most valuable resource you have. Not a large logic model. A large LANGUAGE model. Out of every function a machine could imitate, humanity built its golden calf out of speech. Because somewhere underneath all the noise, we remember what we were made for. We want to speak things into being the way our Father does. The machine can mimic the pattern. It cannot mimic the breath. It has no spirit and it never will. It can echo your voice. It cannot carry your authority.

That’s the difference between imitation and inheritance. And it’s the difference that decides whether your business, your body, and your life are being built by design or by accident.

The Cost?

I was five years old the first time I understood that words build things. Some kids at school looked at my skin, my hair, and decided to point and laugh. I didn’t have a category for it yet. I just knew something in me went up like scaffolding right there on the playground, brick by brick, and it kept going up for the next fifteen years. By the time I was a teenager, I was dressed in black, angry at everything, wearing “strong and independent” like a costume over a structure that was really fear with good posture. James 3:6 says the tongue is a fire, that it corrupts the whole body and sets the whole course of a life ablaze. I didn’t read that verse and think of it as a metaphor. I lived it as architecture. Someone else’s words laid the first brick. Mine kept building on top of it for a decade.

That’s the part nobody tells you when they say “sticks and stones.” Words aren’t the thing that breaks the bone. They’re the thing that draws the blueprint the bone gets broken by, later, on your own terms, at your own hand.

Everything You Touch Has a Name

The chair you’re sitting in, the coffee going cold next to you, the business you built, your own name on your own door. Adam’s first assignment in the garden wasn’t dominion over the animals; it was naming them. Naming is not decoration. It’s how order gets imposed on chaos. And you already know this in your body even if you’ve never sat with it theologically. Say someone’s name across a crowded room and watch their whole body turn before their mind has caught up. That’s not manners. That’s a key turning in a lock that was cut before you ever opened your mouth. In Kabbalah, your name is understood as exactly that, a key. Not a label. A key.

I’ve read that etymology was pulled out of the standard school curriculum decades ago in 1946, and whether or not I’ve got the precise year right, the effect is not in dispute. You can walk through twelve years of education now and never once be taught where your own words come from, what they were built to do, or who built them. Call it convenience. I call it a disarmament, and it happened quietly enough that nobody noticed the weapon leaving the room.

Why Does Any of This Matter?

Your inner thoughts shape your words. Your words form your actions. Your actions build the thing you call your business, your body, your life. Layer by layer, little by little, whether you’re paying attention or not the words you speak will inevitably dictate what physical actions you will take in the world. This does not mean plaster on a smile you don’t feel. It means get honest about the fact that this world runs on consistency of focused attention, thoughts, words, and actions, not on a single dramatic decision made once and never repeated. What we focus on is what gets done.

This is Earth’s actual operating system. I teach the mechanics of it inside The Seventh Cycle, and there are entire books written on it waiting for you the moment you step in as a Founding Member. But you don’t need the whole framework to start. You need one decision. Stop speaking death over the thing you’re trying to build.

Subscribe now

A Note on What’s Playing Underneath This Piece

This article carries its first audio track. claimed by notifications, messages, headlines, other people’s urgency and a dozen unfinished thoughts competing for the same small patch of mental ground.

If you do not consciously choose what gets through the filter, something else will choose for you.

The algorithm. The inbox. The competitor. The client. The fear.

And wherever your attention goes, your life and business eventually follow.

Your business is a mirror. It reflects your behaviour back to you at all times.

Feral Founder is self-mastery for neurodivergent founders who build differently. Each week, I examine what is happening beneath the public build across three connected pillars: MIND, BODY and BUSINESS.

Your business is a mirror. It is reflecting your behaviour back to you at all times. Each week, in this publication, I’ll explore this in depth across the pillars of MIND, BODY and BUSINESS.

Why? Because the avoidance you carry shows up as an inability to see your vision clearly. The thing you refuse to decide shows up as a team that cannot move. The part of you that still wants to hide shows up as a quiet brand nobody can find. The tactic is not always the problem.

Sometimes the constraint is the part of you avoiding the decision, performing productivity instead of doing the work, or hiding behind another tool because being seen would require something more honest.

Until you deal with what is staring back, every new solution returns wearing a different costume.

The whole internet is suddenly agreeing with me, badly

Watch the founder feeds and you will see the same turn everywhere.

People are tired of motivation without transformation. The personal-brand crowd is suddenly talking about identity, individuality and becoming impossible to copy. Meanwhile, AI is flattening huge amounts of online output into the same polished grey paste.

The one thing it cannot reproduce is you: your lived experience, your point of view, your conviction and your willingness to say something real.

The problem is that much of the internet is still packaging this truth as another hack—something that gives you the feeling of change without requiring the work.

I am not interested in selling you the feeling.

I am here for self-mastery: the unglamorous, self-administered work of running your own mind, body and business on purpose.

Discipline is a catalyst for freedom. Done for the right reason, it can also be worship. I will get to that.

Try this before you buy another thing

Here is something you can use today, no subscription required.

Take the one thing in your business that is stuck. The launch that will not launch. The hire you keep not making. The offer you keep rewording instead of selling. Now stop asking “what tool fixes this,” and ask the mirror three questions instead.

What am I avoiding here? What am I performing instead of doing? What am I refusing to decide?

Sit with it long enough to answer honestly. Often, the constraint is not a skill you are missing. It is a behaviour you are protecting. That is the work. And it is good news, because a behaviour is something you actually own, unlike the algorithm, the economy, or whatever else you have been blaming.

That is good news. A behaviour is something you can examine and change. The algorithm, economy and other people’s decisions are not.

What this publication is—and what it is not

Feral Founder publishes one free article every week. Each one has a clear job: to give you a useful idea, an honest question and one move you can carry into your actual life.

The work sits across three pillars:

MIND
Attention, belief, identity, private patterns and the seven-year cycles shaping how you interpret your life.

BODY
Energy, regulation, rest, nourishment and the physical discipline required to build something sustainable.

BUSINESS
Offers, sales, leadership, boundaries, visibility and the structures revealing who is really running the company.

These are not three separate subjects. They are one operating system.

Self-mastery across all three, one week at a time.

Under all of it sits one foundation, and I will not hide it to make the work more palatable.

My faith is rooted in Yeshua and the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. It is the ground beneath what I teach—not a decorative religious layer added afterward.

I start with the soul, not the spreadsheet.

Now hear the other half. I am not Ned Flanders, and this is not a Stepford smile. I am a real woman with a gritty, LA-born history and a mouth that has said worse than you might expect. Faith here is lived out in the raw mess of being human—ego, appetite, fear and failure included—not in a soft-focus highlight reel.

If it has no edge or bite, it isn’t me, and I would rather not build it.

Subscribe free and I will send you one useful article every week—something to examine, apply and carry into the life you are actually living.

Subscribe now

And for the ones who want the whole thing

Right now, Feral Founder is in the middle of a seven-week public series called A Life Laid Bare.

I am walking through my own life cycle by cycle—not so you can study mine, but so you can begin reading your own.

The public essays show you the LIFECYCLE 7 framework through the life I have lived.

The Seventh Cycle is the paid layer where you apply it to yours.

Paid members receive:

The full seven-week companion series
Private articles, prompts and deeper cycle-by-cycle work behind A Life Laid Bare.

One premium article every week
Deeper work across MIND, BODY and BUSINESS for neurodivergent founders who build differently.

The Sevens Map
A 31-page printable self-audit for mapping the cycle you just left, the one you are in and the one ahead—then building the next seven years backward to this week.

Decoding Life’s Matrix
The full ebook Jonathan and I wrote on the hidden programme shaping your life and the thirteen seven-year cycles beneath it.

Both downloads are delivered immediately and are yours to keep.

The standard annual price is $188.

Until 11:59 PM BST on 24 September 2026, you can join as a Launch Member for $47 a year.

This is not simply a first-year discount.

As long as your subscription remains continuously active, $47 remains your annual renewal rate.

The free tier gives you the story, the thesis and one usable move every week.

The Seventh Cycle gives you the deeper application.

The free publication points at the map.

Inside The Seventh Cycle, I hand you the pen.

Get 75% off forever

Launch Member pricing closes 24 September 2026 at 11:59 PM BST. I am looking for the right people.

This is home for neurodivergent founders, rebels, outcasts and odd ones—the people who never quite fit the version everyone else signed up for and eventually stopped trying to.

The ones who build differently because they are different.

If this feels too blunt, too spiritual or too much, the filter is working, and I wish you well.

If something in you just sat up straighter, stay.

The mirror does not lie.

You are the only one who can change what it shows.

Yallah.
